There are two types of hair transplantation, which differ in the method of taking hair from the donor area, however, the essence of these methods is the same: transplantation of healthy hair follicles (follicles) into the area of alopecia (baldness).
The strip technique (skin strip transplant) consists in transplanting small skin flaps of the donor area with hair follicles in them. To obtain a more natural result, the obtained skin flaps are divided into grafts (small pieces). One graft usually contains 1 to 6 hair follicles. Then these grafts are sutured into the problem area, and the donor area is sutured in layers. Up to 2000 grafts can be sewn in during one procedure. Seamless hair transplantation (follicular extraction technique, FUE method) differs in that grafts are taken directly from the donor area, i.e. the skin flap is not excised.

Recovery period
Immediately after the operation, slight painful sensations may be felt, there may be edema, and decreased sensitivity at the sites of surgical intervention. All these phenomena are considered normal and disappear within a few days. In the first 2-3 days, it is necessary to wear a special bandage, which, on the recommendation of the attending doctor, will need to be removed 2-3 days after the operation. With the strip method, the stitches are removed two weeks after the transplant.
Until the skin is completely healed, it is necessary to limit physical activity and mechanical impact on the transplant area.
Results
Since the hair grows very slowly, the result of the transplant becomes noticeable only 3-5 months after the operation. It should be borne in mind that new hair will become stronger and thicker throughout the year.
